Human Research Protection Plan Mission

The Independent Investigational Review Board, Inc. (IIRB) is a committee established for the purpose of protecting the rights of volunteers in a research study. The IIRB is dedicated to providing information to educate human research participants about their role and rights as participants in research study.

The IIRB believes that educating research participants about aspects and issues of research will result in greater safety and better protection to the study participants. This information is provided by the IIRB as a tool to assist the individual that may be considering participation in a research study to make an informed decision about participation and as resources for individuals currently participating in a research study.
